Mobile internet service stopped in these districts of Bihar for 2 days in protest against Agneepath scheme


Desk: The country is currently in turmoil due to the recently launched ‘Agneepath’ scheme by the Central Government. Government property is being damaged everywhere. There is a lot of confusion especially at the railway station. Trains are being set on fire in the station area. Meanwhile, following violent protests against the Agneepath scheme, the Nitish government has suspended mobile internet and SMS services in various districts of Bihar for 48 hours as a precautionary measure.

According to the order issued, this service will be effective from June 17 to June 19 at 2 pm. In which all SMS and mobile internet services, including bulk SMS (except banking and mobile recharge), all dongle services have been suspended. Officials said the move was aimed at maintaining law and order and preventing the spread of rumours. The districts of Bihar where internet and telecom services will remain closed include Kaimur, Bhojpur, Aurangabad, Rohtas, Buxar, Nawada, West Champaran, Samastipur, Lakhisarai, Begusarai, Vaishali and Saran. This will also have an impact on social media apps.
