Students’ unions have called for a bandh on June 18 in protest against the ‘Agneepath’ scheme in Bihar. RJD and Left parties have also spoken of giving moral support to the Bihar bandh.

In protest against the Agneepath scheme, student-youth organizations AISA-INOS, Rozgar Sangharsh United Front and Army Recruitment Jawan Morcha have called for a Bihar bandh on June 18. He also gave an ultimatum of 72 hours to the government and said that if the government does not withdraw the Agneepath scheme, then we will move towards Bihar Bandh and then Bharat Bandh. After just four years of work, the real life of the youth will begin, when will they retire, what a fun, said the student leaders. They demanded immediate repeal of the Agriculture Act and resumption of the regular recruitment process in the Armed Forces.

The student leaders also appealed to the political and social organizations and the people of Bihar to actively support the Bihar bandh to save the future of the army and the youth.

RJD and Left Support

RJD and Left parties have also supported the 18th Bihar Bandh. RJD state president Jagdanand Singh has said that the bandh will not be active support of BJP but will be moral. Announcing this along with the leaders of the Left parties, Jaganand Singh said that the Bharat Bandh called by the students would be supported. Jagdanand Singh said that the central government is playing with the future of the students.

The demands of the students were accepted

He said that there is not only skepticism about the scheme but also there is resentment among the students, adding that there may be disagreement over the way the students expressed their anger but their demand is completely justified. The RJD state president said that the army should be reinstated according to the old rules of recruitment.

Mahagathbandhan with students

Jagdanand Singh said that whatever the path of struggle the students take, the Grand Alliance will give them moral support. Mahagathbandhan is supporting the students. At the same time, while targeting the Center, he said that the government will not do anything by saying that this movement is of confused people, but this movement of students has now taken shape in the real sense.
