Indian tennis star Sania Mirza bid adieu to her career in Hyderabad on Sunday. During the day they played exhibition matches on the court and at night they hosted a grand party in a five star hotel. Many big actors, cricketers and sportspersons arrived to attend the party but Sania’s husband Shoaib Malik did not turn up. Sania Mirza’s son Izhaan and parents were present at the party.
While Sania’s younger sister Anam Mirza Pam arrived with her husband Asad and former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin. Azharuddin is Anam Mirza’s father-in-law. Sania posed for pictures with the entire family but her husband Shoaib Malik’s absence left fans a bit surprised. Shoaib did not even appear in the farewell match during the day.
Badminton star Saina Nehwal arrived at the party with her husband and fellow player Parupalli Kashyap. Saina was looking very beautiful in pink color gown. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan also appeared in this party with his wife and children. The party was also attended by Yuvraj Singh, who came to watch the Farewell match during the day, who had specially come to Hyderabad for the occasion.
Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman also attended Sania’s retirement party. He took several selfies inside the party and also shared them on social media. Sania, 36, reached the stadium in a red colored car. Everyone welcomed him with thunderous applause. Sania became emotional in the farewell speech. Sania said that playing for the country for 20 years is the biggest honor for her. The six-time Grand Slam winner (three in women’s doubles and three in mixed doubles) played two mixed doubles exhibition matches and won both. Sania said, I could not have asked for a better farewell.
Sania got emotional seeing the enthusiasm of the audience. He said, ‘I did not think that I would become emotional today but these are tears of happiness.
