Festival sources told ‘The Hollywood Reporter’ that, “the highly anticipated action spectacle will open in cinemas in Cannes ahead of its Memorial Day premiere.” Cannes would not serve as the film’s world premiere, which would be held in San Diego, where the first film was set. Paramount and Skydance declined to comment on the festival screening of Cruise’s Oblivion director Joseph Kosinski.
